MOSS 2007 configuration failed error
I installed MOSS 2007 on Windows 2008 both trial versions, just for learning purpose.
When I run the configuration wizard it fails by giving an error.
The error says" Failed to create sample data".It asks me to view the log but can't find the problem after viewing it.
How to solve it?

Did you do a basic install or advanced install of MOSS?
I've never seen this error, so I'm just guessing at some things.
If you did an advanced install, make sure SQL Server is installed.
Also, make sure you have enough free diskspace. About the smallest hdd partition I've used when creating a VM is 20gb.
That leads me to another question, is this a Virtual Machine or Physical?
Please give us as much information about your install as possible... as you can see there is a lot more than "I installed MOSS 2007 on Windows 2008" :)
good luck!

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your reply,
I have installed Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition and it is a physical machine i.e not a virtual machine like VMware or MS VM.
But there is no SQL Server installed on the same machine.Do I need to install it before installing MOSS 2007.Any version if SQL server will do like express editions i.e free version or only higher version?
There is no problem as far as disk space is concerned because about 300 Gb is free on the disk which is available to OS.
