Mailbox Issue

I have a user that can send emails to other people but when they send to him they receive the following error message.

I found this article from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2511897 but I have never done a Offline Mailbox Move. Can anyone tell me how this is done? I have done Local Mailbox Moves in the past and even attempted to move his mailbox in this manner but the Local Mailbox Move failes almost right away.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I have not seen this; but there were a couple of posts where this was solved by running Outlook with cleanfinders switch.

I don't know if it will help, but it couldn't hurt.

If it doesn't work, I would suggest trying to run a repair on the mailbox, and if all else fails, recreate the mailbox.

Good luck.

Candee,

Thanks for the suggestion. Just tried that and no change in the issue. The Outlook client is cirrently set to us cache mode and when I remove the cache mode the mail account is missing everything in the Inbox and in other folders but not all. When you say "run a repair on the mailbox" youre referring to the Outlook repair, correct?

What dhould I see as the output of the cmd? It returns to the c: prompt emediately with nothing else on the EMS screen and when I have the results sent to a text file this is all that is in it. I'm running the cmd as this:

New-MailboxRepairRequest -Mailbox UserAddress@DomainName.com -CorruptionType FolderView

               RequestID               Mailbox                 ArchiveMailbox          Database                Server
                  ---------               -------                 --------------          --------                ------

I know this is old and I'm bringing it back from the dead, but I just had this exact same issue. The only solution I could come up with was to export the user's mailbox to a pst file, delete their mailbox/AD account, recreate it, then re-import the email:

New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox <user> -FilePath <path>

Delete user, readd

New-MailboxImportRequest -Mailbox <user> -FilePath <path>

then, I refreshed the GAL:

Get-GlobalAddressList | Update-GlobalAddressList

Get-AddressList | Update-AddressList

Get-OfflineAddressBook | Update-OfflineAddressbook

This solved my problem and allowed the user to once again send/receive email.

Hi ,

Hope it is because of the message corruption in mailbox. Increase the corrupted message size and then try it.
