Manage Web Application Features Not displaying custom features

Hi,

In the Central Administration of our SharePoint 2007 installation, on the "Manage Web Application Features", it is showing only the standard out of box features and it is not displaying the custom deployed features.

Can somebody tell what might have changed that we cannot view the Web App Level custom features.

Thanks in advance!

Sometimes in the SharePoint UI it looks like the deployed feature is neither installed nor activated. This post describes where to locate the management pages for features with different scopes.

Hi Manish, Thanks for your reply however this is not what I am looking for.

I am comfortable with the SharePoint features, their scopes, deployment.

What I am facing as mentioned above is little strange behavior of SharePoint. It is as if there is some configuration setting which has caused all Custom Web App level features to be hidden from Central Admin Manage Web App Features page.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Please make sure that you are able to view your Solution on Central Admin Solution Manager and your feature deploy to the Web applications. And also verify that feature.xml the Hidden="FALSE" set to flash? And Scope you set to Web Application Level.

Hope this help you.

Hi - Thanks for your reply. All these things have been taken care. The Web App level features are working fine.

Only issue is they are not visible in the Manage Farm Features section.

Also the feature's hidden property is set to false. Infact when the same solution when deployed to other farm, the features are visible.

Did you ever find a fix for this?  I have the same issue.  My web application feature shows fine in the web application features in my dev environment, but does not show in production.

If it is only on you app server, check if the Web application Service is running on that machine

Hi,

I am facing similar problem.  The custom Web application Feature which I have created (with Hidden="false") is visible at CA -> Manage Web Application -> Manage Feature section in our Dev environment. Surprisingly, the same is not displayed in QA severs. Not sure if I am missing anything. The Feature is contained in a Farm Solution and deployed+activated using Powershell script on a particular Web Application. All functionality is working fine in both Dev and QA environment. Only issue is that the Feature is not showing up in the QA environment. Any help/clue will be appreciated.
