Maximum Clients Supported on Proxy MP

Hello,

We have SCCM 2007 SP2 R3, I would like to know what is the maximum no.of clients that can be managed by Proxy MP compared to Default MP.

Because as per the below blog it recommends for 1000-2000 in  section "

ConfigMgr Remote/Branch Infrastructure Options"

,  we want to use seconday site where we can manage approx 8000 clients.

Thanks & Regards,

By the book, secondary sites support 5,000 clients. With better hardware, you could conceivably support more clients though.

"The book" is an English expression referring to official guidance which in this case is the TechNet documentation. I can't find it in the current documentation, but it used to be there.

Side question here though: why are you designing a ConfigMgr deployment using an almost 8 year old product?

Hello Jason,

Thanks for your reply

Actually we already having SCCM 2007 Hierarchy in-place, but we want to deploy secondary site to support clients for the new sites which are around 8000, so we wanted to know if a secondary site can handle 8000 clients or there is any limitation for secondary site.

Thanks & Regards,
