Migration problems in SSRS
Hi SSRS experts,
There have been reports developed in SSRS 2008. We just need to change some datasources and datasets in these reports. Can anyone please let me know what are the issues when these reports are again developed in BI 2008R2( basically BI Studio 2008R2)? Our
production server is in 2008 . What are the issues when these reports are deployed in 2008 which are developed in 2008R2 BI studio?
Thanks.
Happy to help! Please mark the post as an answer if I helped you to resolve the issue or vote up if I helped you.Thanks. Regards and good Wishes, Deepak.

Hi Deepak_MSBI,
Generally, Reporting Services 2008 R2 is compatible to Reporting Services 2008. In the Business Intelligence Development Studio(BIDS) 2008 R2 authoring environments, we can deploy report to Report Server 2008 if TargetServerVersion property of the project is
specified to SQL Server 2008. However, the report will not work in Reporting Services 2008 if add some new features to it in BIDS 2008 R2.
For example, the data visualization is one of the new features in Reporting Services 2008 R2, and provided three new ways to visualize data in reports: maps, sparklines and data bars, and indicators. If we design a report in BIDS2008 R2 and use the map control,
the Reporting Services 2008 does not support map report items.
For more information about new features of Reporting Services 2008 R2, please refer to the article below:

Thanks,
Bin Long
