Missing version 4.0.3531.2
Hello,
after updating my SharePoint installation, I seem to have several problems with ForeFront. The User Profile Sync service won't start any more, and when I check the logs they say:
Service cannot be started. System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ResourceManagement, Version=4.0.3531.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. Ok, so I have the wrong version of the DLL. I checked google and noticed that there's an update pack 1 for ForeFront which should have this DLL. So I downloaded it and tried installing; won't work unfortunately. The error I get is:
"The update patch cannot be installed by the Windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and
that you have the correct upgrade patch."
Kind of makes sense, since Forefront isn't event listed in the Programs and Features window in the Configuration Panel. But how do I get those DLL's to be the correct version then? It broke my environment, Profile Sync isn't running any longer and I
can't start it either (each start attempt puts these errors in the log).MCTS in Web Application Development in .NET 2.0

Sharepoint uses a special build from FIM. You should probably contact with SharePoint's PSS.

Ah right, thanks. I've already posted the same issue on the partner forums, hope someone will get to it soon.MCTS in Web Application Development in .NET 2.0
