Monitoring Thru more servers
I have System Centre Essentials installed on a Windows 2003 server. On a client i have installed the console. The managment server cannot however monitor every server. So i want to monitor the servers which the management server cannot monitor on a Wiindows 7 client machine. So not the console but really a client Win7 machine which monitors the server which the manageserver cannot monitor. Is this possible to install SCE SP1 on a client Win7 machine to monitor a few servers which can be deisplayed on the managament server a sort of between station? freddie

Hi, Firstly, I would like to share the following with you for your reference: Supported Deployment Topologies http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730447.aspx System Requirements and Supported Platforms http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730576.aspx What are the servers which the management server cannot monitor; do they exceed the limit? In System Center Essentials 2007, no more than 30 Microsoft Windows-based servers can be managed. Do you mean that you want to monitor the “unmonitored servers” with adding another SCE management server on a Windows 7 client in the same domain? If so, I am afraid it will not work since only one management server is supported and the management server cannot be installed in Windows 7. Meanwhile, if you need monitor more than 30 Microsoft Windows-based servers and more than 500 Windows Clients and you want to use multiple management server solution, you can try System Center Operations Manager: System Center Essentials - Compare Products http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/en/us/essentials/sce-compare-products.aspx Hope this helps.
