Move MOSS 2007 from PROD to Test Environment
Hi,
I know there are few post similar but has anyone documented exact steps to Move MOSS 2007 Farm (Single server with SQL 2005 Database on same server) to another New Server with same configuration and same patches.I have to create test environment from Production
(Farm backup).I do not have access to PROD.It is hosted by 3rd Party.
What kind of back up should i be asking and How to restore it from Backup. ?
How to make sure your Test Environment has same configuration as PROD,is there any file i should be looking for ?
How to know what version of MOSS is there ?
Thanks

Hi Kisha_sp,
There are couple of ways to migrate or to make mirror of production to test and vice versa.
The most used method is content deployment to copy all production data to Test Server. For detailed information about this method, you can refer to
this article:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263423(office.12).aspx.
Another is by copying SQL files from production and restored them in test.
Also you can have a look at this thread:

Thanks & Regards,
