No User name is visible
Win 2003-Moss sp2- SQL 2005- NTFS-Active Directory users.
The users with Modify right cant see the user stamps or Assignee to users of the AD list.
Chronological of the events:
MOSS & sps3.0 sp2s installation couple weeks ago.
Created the 17th site collection to use the same SharePoint Service.
The problem appeared for the Assignee to columns last week.
Then, extended to User stamp everywhere, Document libraries, Announcement, Lists,... after the weekend full crawl.Other site collections are safe. I have compared both site collections. There is no difference in settings. The problem site collection has over 15 Subsites and it is the home site of the portal.

After I installed SP2, it messed up my search settings. I ended up having to re-run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard on the search server before it would let me go in and fix the account for search crawling and some other settings. I believe before that I was getting access denied and other strange permissions errors trying to get to some of the search settings pages. Hope this helps,Amy

Hi Sara
Please try these steps and then check the results.
1.Export the Problem site collection without user security using stsadm -o export command line.stsadm -o export -url <url name> -filename <export file name>2.Delete the problem site collection in Central Admin Site -> Application Management -> Delete Site Collection.3.Create a new site collection.4.Import the exported site collection using stsadm -o import command line.stsadm -o import -url < url name> -filename <export file name>5.Reset Security by adding user to the new site collection.
For details about stsadm import/export command line, please refer to:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262465.aspx
Best Regards!

The proposed solution by Lily corrects the problem with user stamp to be visible for all. But, all the user stamps and time stamp are replaced with the time of import and system account.
The saved template with data did not help. I used the saved list templates with data to recreate them in order to get the user stamp and time stamp. But, they are all changed to one data and time and same system account.
Is there any solution to resolve the user stamp issue without loosing them all?
Thanks,
Sara
