Not Getting Results Back From Client Health Ping
My current environment is SCCM 2007 SP2 with R3 installed. I've recently configured Client Health Reporting and am getting results back in all of the reports. The problem I've encountered is I'm not getting any data back from the client ping. I've enabled the schedule, clicked on Apply and clicked on Run Now. I've looked in the CH_ClientSummary table and the only results I get in the LastSuccessfulPing, LastPingTime, and LastPingResult rows is "NULL". The chService.log file indicates the ping test started with 1166 unhealthy clients indicated by the following message: "Ping test waiting for results from 1166 clients." Now all I get after 5 days is "Ping test waiting for results from 1 clients." This message has been repeating itself since the ping test started on 4/20/2011.Barry Deans SCCM Administrator CenturyLink

I suspect that the case is caused by firewall. Most of firewalls configurations block ICMP by default. Maybe the ICMP packs are blocked by clients' firewall or the gateway firewall. Arthur, thanks for the reply. The ICMP packets are not blocked by the firewalls. I'm open to other suggestions.Barry Deans SCCM Administrator CenturyLink
