OSD Proxy Management Point
Hi all,
I'm attempting to implement OSD using PXE in a multi-site environment.
It's all working fine at the core AD site using the SCCM primary site but I'm having issues getting to work at a secondary site.
Currently, at the secondary AD site a given machine picks up the PXE advertisement from the SCCM secondary site and boots into PE. After starting up (at this point it should be asking about passwords), I just get the background for a few minutes before it
reboots. Looking at the SMSTS, I can see that the client has decided to use the MP over on the SCCM primary site and failing. This is expected to fail because we employ IPSec between AD sites.
I have an MP installed on the SCCM secondary site, and it is set as the default for that site. How can I get the client to use this MP rather than the primary one from the first stages of OSD?
Thanks.

Hi, the client you are trying to install must be able to communicate with the primary site MP, the MP at the secondary site is a proxy MP and it will proxy traffic to the MP but the client must still be able to access the MP at the primary Site.

Hi, that's annoying! So it sounds like the only way I can do this is to use a second primary site?

Hi,
If you cannot allow for HTTP or HTTPS to the SCCM Primary site server so, yes that would solve it.
