Check to see that WMI is running, and that you have the latest service packs for your OS on this server. WMI on older servers is notoriously problematic (2003 in particular had some gaps). There have been a number of fixes in service packs to address this. Sometimes the fastest way is to reboot if you cannot patch.Microsoft Corporation

No, don't close this thread just because it has been "quiet for a while". We should not assume that it has been resolved. IT WAS NOT RESOLVED. There was no solution. That's why there was no feedback. The proposal was that his Management Packs were out of date. No further discussion ensued. Well, I have the same issue, and my Management Packs are 100% up-to-date. It's not an MP issue, it's probably a WMI hotfix issue. Have you verified WMI completely and that all WMI hotfixes for 2003 are on that system?"Fear disturbs your concentration"
