Operator Permission in SCOM
Hi
We have created a operator in SCOM and added AD user to the user role and given only view permission to the some of the views. But when user accessing the concole he is getting all the views. Is there any AD permission is overbidding the operator permission.

Hi Donald,
Did you create a new role and base it on the Operator role, or just add a user to the Operator role?
The Operator role is scoped to see all views. If instead you created a new role based on Operator, you can narrow the scope of the groups, tasks, and views that it can access.
Can you provide more details on how you created this operator?

The other thing to check is that they are not a member of an AD group that you have already given rights to OpsMgr and hence they might be seeing these views because of their membership of other roles. View OpsMgr tips and tricks at

Hi,
Please also try to create a new operator user role and customize its settings and permissions according your requirement referring to:

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
