Permissions for the Blog
Hello, I have created a blog. I need my domain users to access this blog. So I gave contribute permissions to the specified members who needs to create a blog. But there is problem when I give contribute. Now all users who have the permissions for contribute can delete other persons post using Manage Posts options. So how can I disable the delete options in the List tools.

Hi, there are two solutions to this problem: - Solution 1: change the item-level permissions of the Posts list (preferred) - Solution 2: create your own permission level and grant different permissions on the Post list The first solution lets you create a post and delete your owns, however, you are not able to delete posts of others. The second solution restricts the user to delete any post. Solution 1: - go to your posts list - ribbon bar -> list settings - advanced settings - select "Create items and edit items that were created by the user" - click OK and you are done Solution 2 The solution to this would be to create a custom permission level. Let us call it "Contribute without delete". Here a description how you can create a custom permission level: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263239.aspx. After you created this permission level go to the Posts list of your Blog and stop the permission inheritance of this list. After you did this change the permissions of your members to the new permission level, they are not able to delete items anymore.
