Problem with SSIS (dtexecui?) after Sp2
I installed SP2 yesterday on our production server. I had someproblems with that but it seemed to have installed so that the Datbaseengine and the Integration Services is patch at least.
But after the update we can no longer bring up the "properties" ofSSIS packages. If we connect to the integration service and choose runpackage the GUI just wait for a while and then nothing happens. We getan error in the event log thou ..

Anyone can make any sense of that?
If we open a package that we have scheduled in the SQL Agent we get anerror messages saying "No description found" .. really strange stuffis going on here ..?
Please, any help would be appreciated ..

Update ..
Now i can't even start Management Studio .. the good thing is that it seems to be a .net framework related issue and hopefully does not affect the database engine ..
Anyway i get this from the log when i try to run Management Studio ..

The only thing you can do here is to repair your .NET installation, otherwise most of the SQL Server tools will not work.
I would reinstall the entire SQL Server product.
Thanks,
Bob

Thanks!
I will try to repair .net framework.
Do you think it can be an idea to try and repair just the Management Studio client tools?

No,.NET Framework is prerequisite for all the tools. It has to be there before you install other stuff.

Hi. I also faced the similar issue,
I was getting error while even opening/exporting the dts package from the sql server.
I got to know the issue when i checked the event log corresponding to this error. There i could see the same error log as above.
In my case the issue was that Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDts.dll (the correct version 9.0 something required for sql server 2005 ) was by mistake deleted. but thankfully i got it from recycle bin. Restored it and there i go.
