Promote a Management Server to RMS
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc540401.aspx
"To configure the data warehouse server with permissions for the new root management server"
In SQL Management Studio, for the System Center Data Access Service account, In the
Database role membership for: OperationsManagerDW list, ensure that the following items are selected:
configsvc_users, db_datareader, db_datawriter,
db_ddladmin, and sdk_users.
This has confused me...here is the reason:
On a default installation of SCOM, the account in question has the following role membership for
OperationsManagerDW database:
db_datareader and OpsMgrReader.
None of the memberships indicated by Microsoft (in italics above) are selected. In my installation...the memberships indicated by Microsoft are the memberships selected for the OperationsManager database, not the OperationsMangerDW database.
Can someone please assist me here. i.e. is there an error in the Technet document (unlikely)...or can someone confirm what the memberships should be.

Hi!
Kevin Holman has a great Excel spreadsheet for account privileges.

Hi,
This spreadsheet is a great tool...however it confirms what I know already i.e.
SDK account should have the following priviledges for OperationsManagerDW:
db_datareader OpsMgrReader
So, Kevin's spreadsheet verifies this.
HOWEVER...
My confusion is to why Microsoft then say something totally differerent in their technet article i.e. to configure a DW server with details of a new RMS, that:
SDK account should have the following priviledges for OperationsManagerDW:
configsvc_users db_datareader db_datawriter db_ddladmin sdk_users.

Hi,
Regarding the settings for System Center Data Access Service account, please see the steps 8 and 9 in this document:
How to Move the OperationsManagerDW Database in Operations Manager 2007
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc540368.aspx
After checking other documents, I think the settings “db_datareader, db_datawriter, db_ddladmin, and dbmodule_users” are for "Database role
membership for: OperationsManager":
How to Move the OperationsManager Database in Operations Manager 2007

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
