We are in the process of removing the server where a SCCM secondary site is installed on.
This site is a Proxy MP and a protected distribution point.
When the SCCM site was setup, it was on a very slow WAN connection and this forced us to create a local site.
Now the facilities speed has been considerably upgraded and we no longer need to create a new SCCM site on the new server when the old one is taken off line.
Lets call this site A. Two questions:
- How can I have all the clients at Site A now use the Proxy MP and DP of the close by Site B SCCM server? Site B is a secondary site with its own Proxy MP and DP. Not a protected DP and not a primary site. Is it as simple as taking the subnet of where the site As PCs are and having them assigned to the boundaries of the secondary site B?
- What is the proper way to decommission the secondary site A and remove all references to it in our SCCM infrastructure?
