Recrusive parent SSRS
Hi there, is it possible to use recrusive parent in ssrs column chart? I've been able to create drill down table with parent-child hirarchy, according to this link http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robertbruckner/archive/2008/10/14/using-analysis-services-parent-child-hierarchies-in-reports.aspx, but I can not create a chart. I only need level 1 from my hirarchy for series data, and I don't mange to filter chart properly.

Hi ursshula, As you posted, we are able to create a recursive hierarchy group on a table. In order to achieve this, we need to specify the Recursive parent in the Advanced page in Group Properties dialog. However, the Advanced page is not included in the Series Group Properties dialog. In other words, the recursive hierarchy only supports on row group or column group of a tablix. In order to achieve requirement, one possible workaround is to modify the dataset. I will also try to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue. This might be some time delay. Appreciate your patience and understanding. Hi Tony, thanks for your answer :) But as a parent-child dimension is working in table, I would expected it will work on chart too. Regards, Ursa

Hello Ursshula, Thank you for your patience. I understand that you could create drill down table with parent-child hirarchy but not a chart. Here is a link which talks about drilldown on SSRS charts. Hope you find this useful. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/seanboon/archive/2009/02/09/enabling-drilldown-on-ssrs-reporting-services-2008-charts.aspx Regards, Swetha Swetha Ganapatiraju | Microsoft Online Community Support Get or Request Code Sample from Microsoft Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

Hi Andi, what do you try to do? Did you look the links from Tony and Swetha? What do you try to achive? The parent-child hirarchy works fine with table, but not exactlly with chart. For me the work around for chart was creating the new attribute in dimension which has only level one data from my parent-child dimension. Regards
