Is it just this agent? If you modify the schedule for hardware inventory, or software inventory, does that take affect? If not, then my guess is that the client is having issues communicating with the management point. Check the ccmexec.log on the client, or the mpcontrol.log on the server.

Site System server reboot does the trick. Same problems were with Inventory Agents. As for Management Point, client could access http://<ServerName>/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist The only error i found is Event ID 7001 on Site System server: Event Type: ErrorEvent Source: Service Control ManagerEvent ID: 7001Description:The Windows Event Collector service depends on the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service which failed to start because of the following error:The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. Windows Firewall is disabled by group policy.

I got the same error. To solve it........I changed the state of the Windows Firewall/ICS service from disabled to manual. After that the error stopped and I noticed that service now is started.I think SCCM needs that service to be in automatic or manual status.
