Remote Tools or Remote Assistance?
Hello,I'm confused as to why there are three different Remote options. I understand why Remote Desktop exists, but I can't figure out why there is Remote Tools AND Remote Assistance?I have read a couple posts stating that people thought Remote Tools was going away, and others that say Remote Assistance is going away.I realize that we should be using whatever works, but if one is going away, I would rather just concentrate on making the one work...Can someone please set me straight? Thanks for any help,Murf

You can find details here:- Overview of Remote Tools http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693702.aspx Basically, Remote Assistance is used if you want to "shadow" a users session. Remote Desktop is if you want to log in using your own account (i.e. use Terminal Services). Remember some limitations apply, regarding what is supported in what OS. Remote tools for Windows 2000 clients still uses something similar to the old SMS 2.0 remote tool. Regards, Tom Watson, E-Mail: Tom_... @... Blog: http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/tom_watson
