Report Builder - using a .net dll
Hey,
Does anyone know how to or if it is possiblie to incorporate a custom .net dll in the report model to add additional functionality as you can in regular reporting services. The functions would be usedon the server and not by thereport builder user.
Thanks

In the current version it is not possible to extend RB to use custom assemblies.
That said, there is a way to do it. You can build report in RB, save to report server or file and then load and edit it in Report Designer. Here you can add reference to your custom assembly and use it in expressions.

Alexandre,
if i can hijack this thread to ask a further question on this topic: does the assembly have to be v2.0, or can v1.1 assemblies be referenced and called?
Thanks,

Update: Report Builder 2.0 and later do support external DLLs. Microsoft recommends these be placed in the GAC prior to running the report.__________________________________________________________________
