I am getting an error while trying to create a dataset in SSRS. "An error occurred while loading the query designer 'OLEDB-MD'. Only text based query designer will be loaded." The "Query Designer" command is getting disabled. FYI:I was able tocreate successful connection while created the sharedDataSource to the AS db, which I used to create my dataset. Please guide me in getting through this error.. Thanks in advance Amber

I had the same issue. I was able to run the reports for a while without any issue. However I had to modify the cube and then this issue. After checking all the points of failure, I realised that the cube was not fully processed and deployed. That resolved the isuue. Try it and see if it works.Thanks

Make sure your data source is of type Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services. If you have originally created the data source as a Microsoft SQL Server you may have to remove it and create it from scratch as a SQL Server Analysis Services data source. Hope it helps. Jason

I had this same problem and then later realized when I was setting up my datasource, I was putting the cube name in instead of the database name. Once I corrected that, I no longer go the error. User error I guess.
