Reporting Services 2008 CrossDomain.xml
Hi,
I am trying to create a silverlight application that calls the ReportExecution2005 webservice and it seems that silverlight wants a CrossDomain.xml file at the root of the domain hosting the ReportExecution2005 webservice. In reporting services
2005 I can add the CrossDomain.xml to the root of the app pool hosting the webservice through IIS but I can't figure out how to add it in SSRS 2008 since the web service is hosted by Sys.Http. Does anyone know how I would add
the CrossDomain.xml in SSRS 2008?
Thanks,
Eric Nelson

You can use IIS to host the cross domain policy XML file. Although SSRS 2008 web service is self-hosted, the cross-domain XML file must be hosted at the domain root because that is where Silverlight will look for it.

Hope that helps,

I am having the same issue the above suggested solution does not solve the problem. My IIS instance is running on port 80, because of that I have to run my SSRS instance on port 8080.
If I change SSRS to run on port 80, it no longer responds, I assume because IIS is picking it up. Is there another options for getting cross domain policie files on the SSRS server? Seems like something that could be a major issue
if there is no work around. I appreciate the self hosted SSRS, but in this case its been a real hinderance not being able to have IIS host SSRS.
So my exact environment is setup as follows:
IIS is running on port 80.
SSRS 2008 is running on port 8080.
If I modify SSRS to run on port 80, it no longer responds.
