Hi and Thanks so much for your help in advance. I've been asked to find a utility/tool that will allow us to compare the data elements of a report. In detail what we are trying to do is run a report (export in PDF or Excel). We'd like to save the results off, perform some updates to our infrastructure and tune queries. Once that work is done we want to confirm the data in the preUpgrade reports matches the data in the post-Upgrade reports. Using a tool like PDF compare or Beyond Compare doesn't seem to be a fit, as we'd like to compare ONLY the actual data of the report (not header or footer info, which will change with each run of the report). We are using SQL Server 2008. Any help here would be greatly, GREATLY appreciated. -Randy

Hi, By default when you export report to XML or CSV, report headers and footers are not getting exported. There are many tools availabe for XML comapre, also for CSV you can use any text based comapre tool.- Chintak (My Blog)
