Roadmap Migration from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012

Hi Experts,

Can anyone please indicate high-level and detailed steps to migrate our SCCM 2007 infrastructure to SCCM 2012?

From your experience, what best practices should I follow?

Any links, docs, thoughts would be really appreciated

Hi,

The documentation for SCCM 2012 is up on Technet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682006.aspx
Questions related to SCCM 2012 should be placed at http://connect.microsoft.com join the configuration Manager open beta and you can see all asked question and ask your own.

regards,
jörgen

There is only one path: side-by-side migration combined with hiearchy simplification as primary sites have a different role in 2012.

More specific about what? The documentation and links Jorgen provided have a lot more detail and info. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions, but there's a lot of info possible.

In my 14 years experience in IT, I've never received a good straight answer in Microsoft forums, just links to other Microsoft articles with many other links that still don't tell you how to actually perform the required steps to meet your goals.

Many thanks to the other resources mentioned in this post and the many others available that have provided step by step instructions on how to implement new systems and technology. We wouldn't get anywhere without you.
