SCCM
We install packages to remote clients using SCCM. The package is 2.2GB and rather critical. Every time we run the package we are receiving errors that the SCCM is currently busy or installing another package. We have checked and there is nothing running. We also ran the following, Stop Windows Update service, Delete c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, Cleared the cache on the configuration manager, Ran a repair on the configuration manager, Start the windows update server, Restarted the machine.... BUT No matter what we try, it seems like the "Windows Updates" are pushing installations first and or something is taking control which is preventing us to install. Please can someone assist with this as this really urgent.... Thanks a million... :-)

The "Windows update" service and the SoftwareDistribution folder have nothing to do with ConfigMgr's software distribution (given that you are not talking about Software Updates Management). See execmgr.log on the client to see what's preventing the installation from running. Alternative: check the status messages for that system.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Hi Thanks for the response, We check the *.log files relevant to this but could locate anything relating to the package we are pushing. The are 4 security updates trying to run at the same time which I think is causing this to fail. I have hardly worked on SCCM so this is a new ball game for me :-) Been reading on the net and someone mentioned that we should try and delete the folder as I mentioned in the previous comment. The error is "The program that you have requested cannot be run right now because configuration manager is busy running another program or a reboot is in progress. Please try to run this program again later" We ran a "shutdown -a" and there was no shutdown in progress.... Thanks

Use Client Center, connect to the client and see if you have any running jobs. If so, kill the running job.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Thanks for the reply. I will try this. We can view the jobs but cannot stop them as we don't have access to complete that. Only the HO has access. We will contact them and will send this to them so that they can log on remotely to assist. The time difference is causing delays as well... Thanks again
