SCCM 2007 R3
Hi, I read that SCCM 2007 R3 is available for customers who are part of Software Assurance program. I have a customer who has SCCM 2007 R2 implemented but not is part of Software Assurance. Does that mean I cannot upgrade that environment to SCCM 2007 R3? Divya

Hi, As far as I know your customer needs to have Software Assurance in order to use R3. For more info http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/en/us/configuration-manager/cm-pricing-licensing.aspx

Your customer will have to totally re-purchase SCCM to get to R3. At least that was the answer I was given from the licensing help desk at Microsoft when I asked the questions. There is no upgrade license to get from R2 to R3, it's a total repurchase. I suggest anyone using SCCM buy SA otherwise they will have to repurchase again to get v.Next.
