SCCM 2012 Design architecture

Hello everyone,

I'm thinking on a design of SCCM 2012 with this specification:

All roles: reporting, OS & software deployment, baseline, reporting, metering,...

5 Sites with:

-500 computers in canada

- 450 Australia

- 200 in Zimbabwe ( slow link )

- 200 in india

- 100 in belgium

I have 2 design :

1st: one central site and primary site in Canada then only secondary site

2st: one standalone then distribution with windows server because we need to install with PXE in branch office

What do you think is the best ?

I would go for option 2, there is no specific reason to work with a CAS with that amount of clients

With the information you provide... Number 2 with a secondary in Zimbabwe

You only need a CAS if you have multiple primar

And so for the option 2, for OS deployment I need a windows server as a DP because windows client can't do PXE right ?

Although the details are different, the question is exactly the same as the one posed athttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmanagergeneral/thread/5960fc03-90a4-4980-96fc-4b45111b15b5 .

Basically, unless you find a specific reason to use a CAS, don't do it. Thus, I concur with Ronnie and grundlichkeit.

Option 3....?

Primary Site w/ a MP/DP in the DMZ. Deploy the IBCM (Internet mode client). Deploy DP's at site with good connections, as well as you could leverage SCCM DP in cloud for site would poor connections.
