SCCM 2012 and GPO (.adm or admx)

I know there are two .adm files on the SCCM 2012 media (..\SMSSETUP\TOOLS\ConfigMgrADMTemplates), but apparently these two files only contain a couple of settings.

I was wondering if I could make configuration changes to the SCCM client using GPOs. I know I can use WMI scripts to accomplish this, but I was trying to use GPO instead of scripts. Is this even possible?

Thanks!

Most settings are not stored in the registry so you can't use GPOs to configure the client.

Thanks for clarifying this.

Also note that the templatesfor adm templates for ConfigMgr aren't for real group policies. They simply set values in the registry and do act like normal group policy settings where if you remove the policy from a system the setting is also reversed.

...and do act like normal group policy settings where if you remove the policy from a system the setting is also reversed.

I think you meant:
...and do *NOT* act like normal GP settings.. If you de-scope or un-link the GPO, these settings are *NOT* reversed/removed

Yes, you are correct Don -- one little word change things dramatically :-)
