SCCM Client install issues
Hi Folks,
i am having, what i think is, a weird issue with SCCM 2007R2. some of my windows 7 machines show up in the console as client=no, approved=NA, assigned=yes. the site code is correct and when i try to install the client manually i get the following in the
ccm.log.

I don't see any errors here but the client still shows in the console with the info provided above.
Anybody see an issue in this log entry? what am i missing here...it's quite irritating.
All PC's on the domain have their firewall governed by a group policy which has all the proper ports open and WMI allowed.

It llooks like the ccmsetup.exe file is copied correctly to the boxes. You need to check the ccmsetup.log file on the client to further troubleshoot the installation.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

<![LOG[Installation succeeded.]LOG]!><time="11:41:53.139+240" date="05-11-2011" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="5344" file="msiutil.cpp:890">
does that say to you that things went properly?Colin Stewart

Yes, have a look at the clientidstartupmanger.log and the clientlocation.log, these will tell you if there are problems with assigning the client to the siteKent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Collections are not a real-time reflection of what's in the ConfigMgr database including client status. Also, ConfigMgr is not a real-time system, the console only shows you information from the last time a client reported in; this is a periodic activity
depending on the data or activity being reported by the client. The server never reaches out to an installed client for information.
To track client status, you should use queries.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
