SCCM Server Reinstallation
Hi, In our environment we have tested SCCM Trail version in test environment and we are not able to Upgrade the test environment to production environment since we are using SCCM RTM trail version. we have SCCM 2007 SP1 and SP2 licensed version but because of the version conflict we are not able to upgrade.we have single primary site with 1000 clients and single server acting as a site server and site database server. We have taken Site backup using site backup task. Is there any possibilites to reinstall SCCM Server with same host name,IP address, site name and site code so that all my clients will start reporting the server once it comes online (or) i want reinstall all clients (or) is there any other solution to bring it online. Our major requirement is Clients should communicate with server instead of reinstalling client agents in all systems. Any help much appreciated, Thanks & Regards, Thanks Siva Aadhi-CIT. MCITP

Yes it's possible without reinstalling clients. Just reinstall your server, sql and sccm with licenced version, then restore your backup. It should work. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680456 No issue with clients if you keep same site code. Another way is to install a new site side by side, then by software distribution from your trial environement reassigne your clients to the new site.

Hi, Have you tried to patch your RTM trail to SP2 first, then run setup to upgrade from trail to licensed version? Take this as a reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee344146.aspx Thanks
