SCCM design with offline sites
I am struggling/wondering how to setup SCCM in the following configuration. We have some sites (between 1 and 100 machines) that are not always connected to our LAN/WAN infrastructure. They can be offline for several days or even months, our container sites.
We can describe them as mobile units (servers and pcs) that move around the world and they are used/come online whenever needed. We know the different containers but whe can't predict when they are connected or disconnected. In the past, SMS2003, we
had a DP on the larger container sites but this is ____ when alle the DPs needs to be updated.
What would be the best way to perform such a setup in SCCM 2007 R3? Should we stick to the current setup and change the DP replication retry rates and use DP replication groups, should we change to DP to a primary site ...

I would install a secondary site for remote site server and eigther use
Courier Sender or copy the PCK files manually to site when the network is available and extract them using
PreloadPkgOnSite.exe on the site.

Hi Tom,
1) Is it a requirement that the sites works will being disconnected?
have a similar setup with some Cargo ships and we have solved the problem by settings up primary sites.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/ | The Danish community for System Center products

Consider going to native mode, use IBCM and some sort of third party tool like OneSite or Nomad to control bandwidth. Anytime the clients hit the Internet they are managed.
