SCE2007
I just finished installing SCE 2007. I want to know how does the clients contact the SCE 2007 or how does the SCE 2007 contact the clients, because not all clients are ON at the same time and I want to setup this feature and where and how?
Also what do I have to install on my Helpdesk person to do day-to-day things with users remotely?

You'll need to deploy agents to the computers you intend to manage. You can perform a push-install from the server, or even configure Essentials to automatically discover and deploy agents on a daily basis.
A remote console on your helpdesk persons desktop will allow them to view alert, performance, state and report data in Essentials.
Really suggest you take a few minutes and review the Essentials 2007 Operations Guide and related documentation, which will answer all of these questions.

Thanks but I am not talking about discovery of computers or Sync. But I want to know who contact who?SCE contact Clients?orClients contact SCE?Also I want my helpdesk person to troubleshoot users issues on daily bases via Remote assistance?ThanksDeep Kumar

Hi,When agent is installed on clients and GPOs have been applied, client will contact with SCE server every 22 hours by default. You can force client to contact server immediately by running wuauclt /detectnow on clients.Also, SCE console provide remote assistance task. Can I change this settings from 22 hours to a customized and where/how?So if I install SCE agent onto my Helpdesk he will be able to triubleshoot day-day stuff?ThanksDeep Kumar

Hi,You can edit SCE manged computer GPO. In this GPO, go to computer configuration->administrative templates-> windows update. In right pane, you can eidt automatic update detection freqency setting to change default hours.HTH.Jie-Feng Ren - MSFT

These settings are for Windows updates but I am asking about how does both Clients and SCE Server contact each other (I am not talking about discovery which is to see if there are any computers and install agent.......I am not talking about Sync. which daily download updates from Microsoft to WSUS at 4:30 am.......I don;t know if I am explaning it properly.ThanksDeep Kumar
