SCE 2010 on Windows 2008 R2 SP1
Has anyone had success installing SCE 2010 on Win2k8 R2 SP1? I get the familiar WSUS valid date error message, indicating the the WSUS version is out of date. Checking the forums I see that this error message was handled previously by either of the two options: You cannot install WSUS with a higher version of WSUS already installed http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenterdeployment/thread/5dc22d7a-6f49-42d0-a808-436ab768ef98 SCE 2007 / SBS 2003 - WSUS doesnt pass pre-requisites test http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenter/thread/94f8d09e-156d-4243-b028-14d363a87a67 It appears that SP1 has updated the WSUS version beyond what is expected by SCE2010.

Hello Darren, System Center Essentials 2010 (SCE 2010) is certified to work with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. See: A quick note on SCE 2010 support for Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 http://blogs.technet.com/b/systemcenteressentials/archive/2011/04/18/a-quick-note-on-sce-2010-support-for-windows-server-2008-r2-sp1.aspx For the issue of the WSUS version is out of date, please read the article below: How to install SCE 2007 SP1 which is blocked with expired WSUS 3.0 SP1 warning http://blogs.technet.com/b/systemcenteressentials/archive/2011/02/02/how-to-install-sce-2007-sp1-which-is-blocked-with-expired-wsus-3-0-sp1-warning.aspx The workaround also works for SCE 2010.
