SCE restore
i restored SCE server according what stated in technet (backup and restore of the DB and update content files).when i launch SCE console i get the following error:The SDK service was unable to read license information. This is probably due to an incorrectly restored Root Management Server. Please restore your backed up key using SecureStorageBackup.exe and restart the SDK service. since this was not documented, i would like if i have definitivelly lost everything, due that i do not find the backup of the key what you r opinion?Davide Gatta

Hi, SecureStorageBackup.exe backs up the security keys that allow the services to trust the database. It is not possible to restore a SCE environment without them. The usage is as follows: Launch a command prompt Copy the CD\supporttools\securestoragebackup.exe locally to the install directory for SCE Navigate the command prompt to the location of the local copy Run 'securestoragebackup.exe Backup \\preferrably-non-local-path\scesecurestoragefilename.bin' Type ina password when prompted. If restoring a SCE environment, run this command after restoring the databases: securestoragebackup.exe Restore \\preferrably-non-local-path\scesecurestoragefilename.bin Type in the password used at backup time when prompted. Ckuever,As stated, without the keys backed up you cannot recover your SCE environment. A removal and clean installation is your best option at this point.Sorry,TimTim Vander Kooi

We followed these steps http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb437269.aspxand were surprised when we ran into this error. We found the solution at Ckuever's link worked. Instead of running MOM.MSI use SCE.MSI.Making a backup of this key should really be added to the information on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb437269.aspx.Good luck90% of the laws are made because of 10% of the people.
