SMS 2003 SP3 support Server 2008 clients?
Hi,I have customer that starts to play with server 2008.It looks like SMS 2003 SP3 supports Windows Server 2008 as client.http://technet.microsoft.com/nl-be/library/dd939130(en-us).aspxAnyone any experience with this? Any caveats or good-to-knows?
There is no budget to upgrade to SCCM yet.ThanksNicohttp://nicosienaert.blogspot.com/

There's nothing special about that. It doesn't matter if the SMS client is installed on server 2003 or 2008.

Yes, the caveat comes with Windows Server 2008 R2, whichnis not supported with SMS 2003 SP3.This is really disgusting. We have a mainstream product (SMS 2003 SP3) supported in extended Phase till 2015 which cannot patch a mainstream product like Windows Server 2008 R2.Solution, migrate to SCCM...a lot of investement in licensing and migration efforts. In my humble view, SMS 2003 SP3 client should be supported by Windows 2008 R2Ramon
