SQLServer 2008 Integration Services and SP1
All, We installed SQLServer 2008 Standard Edition (and along with it Integration Services) and then applied SP1 for all the components installed. However, from SSMS, when we connect to the Database Engine the Version correctly shows up as 10.0.2531.0 but Integration Services as 10.0.1600.0. I tried re-applying SP1 and on the Select Features screen of the SP1 software the “Patch Level” shows up correctly as 10.0.2531.0 and “Upgrade Status” as Installed. Despite that, I clicked on next to apply the patch but the process errored out with the message “There are no SQLServer instances or shared features that can be updated on this computer” I restarted the Integration Services from the Windows Services Applet to see what shows up in Event Viewer and I see the following: Microsoft SSIS Service started. Server version 10.0.1600.22 ((SQL_PreRelease).080709-1414 ) Any thoughts? Thanks, rgn

I was also confused by this. Versions differ depends where you look. I want to assure you that you most likely have properly applied the SP1.Arthur My Blog

Forgot to add an article on How to determine the version of SQL Server 2005 Integration Services http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942177 Do not be confused by the build/version stated 2005, I could not find a corresponding article for ver 2008. Besides, I used the Method 2: Use the MsDtsSrvr.exe file By the way, there is very little changed for the SSIS in this SP, so not to be too concentrated on the SSIS side.Arthur My Blog

I would also look for and install all Service Packs for Visual Studio. If you are up to SQL 2008 R2 then there is a required SP for VS and BIDS.Todd C - MSCTS SQL Server 2005 - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.
