OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 with .net 3.5 and 4.0 everything is installed. But the only thing I see is SQL 2005 in my installed programs. And I can not un install it because it will break my Plesk setup. Also when I run the tester of the installation it tells me that all the required components for an installation are successful. But when I go to delete the 100 it tells me that I do not have sufficient permissions to delete the fiole yet I am logged in as a system administrator When I look at the Windows error I see Description : Le programme d'installation de SQL†Server†2008 a rencontrÈ une erreur. I redownloaded the 64 bit version of SQL 2008 R2 and no I am getting a different error,. the reason I did this is because I did not find in add or remove programs SQL 2008 Here is the error TITRE : Programme d'installation de SQL Server 2008 ------------------------------ Des erreurs de validation figurent sur cette page. Was a restart performed? I suggest you go through the list of installed programs because I think the installation conflicted with something already installed e.g. perhaps you have some kind of a third party tool on the server. If it does, un-install this item and try installing the SQL Server again. Arthur My Blog

have you got enough permissions on installation folders. Installation account should included into local admin group. Sorry unable to understand the error messages but here is installation steps and screenshots http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2008/06/12/sql-server-2008-step-by-step-installation-guide-with-images/http://uk.linkedin.com/in/ramjaddu

Did you make sure there is no other (third party) software installed? And did you restart the server before doing another installation attempt?Arthur My Blog
