SQL and RDP problems.... URGENT
Windows 2003 Server SP2, running SQL server 2008, Terminal Server. I am getting the event 17403 logged now several times a day, usually telling me reason: Timer event. I have just recently been having problems on computers working over RDP to this server. The users will get disconnected and then reconnect within 2 to 5 minutes and everything will work fine for awhile. Sometimes the connections will work error free for hours. The RDP connections are coming over a VPN which is supported by DSL on both ends. We have started watching the bandwidth on the DSL locations but have not seen any DSL issues during the connection failures. I have tested from another remote location, and can duplicate the problem. When one computer goes down, they all go down. The TS sessions resume when they reconnect so no work is lost. The connection might just freeze, and then go to reconnecting or just start working. Or worst case Remote Desktop closes, and they have to restart remote desktop.
