SQL server upgrade 2005 to 2008
I did in place upgrade from sql 2005 to sql 2008 R2.. however, SQL 2005 integration service sill running on the server along with 2008 integration services.. I am not sure why there is a 2005 integration service instance still running? Any idea? May be Some SSIS component didn’t copy over to 2008? How can I remove 2005 integration services?

I didn't think that SSIS was instance specific. I thought it was limited to one per machine. So you're saying that you can call up TWO instances of SSIS from the same server? Does one have an instance name after the server name? Can you remove one in Add/Remove Programs? If so, I would remove BOTH, then re-install 2008, that way it get in as the default instance.Todd C - MSCTS SQL Server 2005 - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.

there are two intergration services ( 2005 and 2008) running on the same server... i did in place upgrade so i suspect that the 2005 version of ssis should migrated to 2008.. i am not sure why 2005 ssis is still running on the server.. how can i remove this from the serve? i can not use add/remove sql server 2005.. because it doesnt exist anymore..

"there are two intergration services ( 2005 and 2008) running on the same server"... "i can not use add/remove sql server 2005 because it doesnt exist anymore." Either it is there, or it isn't. How are you ascertaining that there are TWO instances of SSIS on the server? Using SSMS, connect to an instance of SSIS by using the Server (machine) name. In the Object Explorer window, what is the version number in parenthases next to the instance name?Todd C - MSCTS SQL Server 2005 - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.
