I've installed and configured SSRS 2008 R2. I used configuration manager to configure in SharePoint integrated mode - but the Current Report Server Database/Report Server Mode setting in config manager shows "Native". I expected to see Integrated. Did I do something wrong? Also, what is next? How do I tell it which SharePoint front end to associate with?

Hi DanDoney, In order to implement the Reporting Services SharePoint Integration mode, we need to configure the Report Server catalog database with SharePoint Integrated mode first. We can follow these steps to do so: Open Reporting Services Configuration Manager(RSCM). Go to "Database" tab. Click "Change Database" button. In the coming dialog, select "Create a new report server database.", and then click "Next". Since we are not able to convert a Native database to SharePoint Integrated database directly, we need to create a new report server database. Connect to the database server. In the "Report Server Database Configuration Wizard" > "Change Database" > "Database", please type the database name, and make sure the item "SharePoint Integrated mode" is selected. Click "Next", and follow the wizard to finish the action. Now, the SharePoint Integrated mode database is created. After that, we can configure the SharePoint Integrated mode. Below is the general steps for your reference: Install the SharePoint Web Front End(WFE) on the report server machine. Install the Reporting Services 2008 R2 Add-in for SharePoint Integration mode on all WFEs. Configure the Integrated mode using the SharePoint 2010 Central Administrative. Thanks Jin! I think my problem requires a bit more explanation. My configuration has separate servers each for the SharePoint 2010 web front end, SSRS 2008 R2, and the Sql Server 2008 R2 Database. For this reason, I am attempting to set up in "Connected Mode". I followed steps 1-7 from your post - to no avail. Even though I selected SharePoint Integrated mode, the database type in the configuration manager kept showing up as "Native" mode. My first mistake: I needed to install the Sharepoint add-in on the SSRS Server. When I installed the add-in the configuration manager showed the database as in integrated mode. Fearful that there may be problems based on your statement "Since we are not able to convert a Native database to SharePoint Integrated database directly, we need to create a new report server database", I decided to reinstall the database. When I did (even though I selected integrated mode), the database in the configuration manager only showed integrated mode. I removed the add-in and reinstalled - it showed up properly in SSRS integration manager! This is anything but straightforward. Now that I've got that worked out, I need to configure SharePoint. Since the SharePoint instance is running on a completely different server(s), it makes no sense that I should have to install the Web Front End (WFE) on the SSRS server. Is that just for a single server configuration? Step 2 and 3 make sense to me...

Hi Dan, For a server farm deployment, we need to install the WFE on the SSRS server too, otherwise an error will be found while configuring the deployment. The error should be an assembly from SharePoint won't be found. Thanks, Jin ChenJin Chen - MSFT

Hi, I am seeing the same issue as Dan above. I am running reporting servcies on a SharePoint Application server so it has all the SharePoint components installed. Even when I recreate the databases using SharePoint Integrated mode, it still shows as native mode.
