SSRS report acces issue-report server
I have a report server configured to run on specific user account(user a) . When (user b) create a report using BIDS and create a connection to data source using windows authentication i am able to run the report in bids. when the same report is deployed to server and try accessing , it throws out an error stating failed connection to datasource . the user has content manager permissions in the report manager. s/d

Do you have Report Server and DB/Analysis Service on different machine. if this the case and you are running report manger on your machine than it will cause double hop and will get you error in connection. if this is the case please implement kerberose. Refer This for the same- http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/E/1/BE1AABB3-6ED8-4C3C-AF91-448AB733B1AF/SSRSKerberos.docxGaurav Gupta http://sqlservermsbiblog.blogspot.com/

On the Report server, what is the DataSource for the report? Are there credentials in that Datasource specified to user a?Russel Loski, MCT

Hi Sunil, The report server role has nothing to do with the report datasource credential. For " it throws out an error stating failed connection to datasource", follow these suggestion: 1. Check the datasource credential type, if it is integrated windows authentication, ask your DBA to check the window account has rights to access the database of the datasource. 2. If the report server and sql server are in the different server, it should be double hop issue. As suggested by Gaurav, setup kerberos authentication to solve the issue. Besides, you can change the datasource credential with stored credential as a workaround without enable kerberous. thanks, Jerry
