Secondary Site questions.
I have sucsessfully created a secondary site in a second domain so we may perform windows updates in that domain with SCCM. Now I have a few questions.
1)As the second site in domain2 now has a different site code than the first domain the primary site is in, do I use the site code for the first domain or the second domain when deploying my sccm client in the second doamin?
2) Should there be a "Computer Managment" bucket under the second site?
3) Do I need a SUP or WSUS in the second domain as I already have them in the first?

Do I need to transfer site settings? Does this copy settings or transfer roles to the other site?tconners

Hi,
1) Client s are always assigned to a primary site, never a secondary. So use the primary site code.
2) Nope
3) Nope, you can install a SUP but it's not required. You clients at the secondary site will automatically scan against the SUP in the primary site.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/ | The Danish community for System Center products

Hi,
For the third question, the benefit for configuring SUP on secondary site is saving the traffic when the client talks to SUP to determine what updates are application, installed etc and which ones to request to download/install from the DP.
The software updates come from the distribution points to the client, so the bulk of the traffic will occur from the DP whether there is a SUP there or not. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
