Seems like mirroring of UPS is not supported. Refer to the following post for more information

The problem with User Profile Service Application; unlike other Service Applications which use an Application proxy.  This service makes direct SQL calls, so every server in the SharePoint Farm(s) will need access to this SQL Server and SharePoint service accounts will need proper permissions.

Suggest using the same SQL Alias for the UPS on all servers in your Farm(s).  Now in SQL Server mirror I believe 3 databases that UPS uses.  If the primary SQL Databases fails, make the secondary SQL active and now change the SQL Alias on all SharePoint servers.

To fail-back re-establish mirrors and switch roles in SQL and update SQL Alias in SharePoint servers.

This is a manual process because SharePoint does not support fail-over.

     To configure mirroring for SharePoint 2013 , do we need to mention the failover database server in central admin for each content db's/service appln. db's and also we need to configure mirroring in SQL?
