SharePoint 2013 SP1
Does somebody know when SharePoint 2013 SP1 wil be released. Because we want to install Sharepoint 2013 on Windows 2012 r2. This is not possible without SP1 for Sharepoint 2013.

Beyond SP1, you'll need to wait for SharePoint 2013 with Service Pack 1 (a new ISO). But there has been no announced release date for Office 2013 SP1 and/or SharePoint 2013 SP1.

Thanks Trevor for your reply. Some people have installed SharePoint 2013 on Windows Server 2012 R2. Example: http://soussi-imed.over-blog.com/article-installing-sharepoint-2013-on-windows-server-2012-r2-120547920.html

Does Microsoft support installing SharePoint 2013 (without SP1) on server 2012 R2?

Not at present: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2891274

Hello

Installing in 2012 R2 is possible if you install manually the requirements. ONLY TAKE CARE WITH Distributed Cache configuration.

Bu the way,, someone knows if SP1 will contain a fix to have Sharepoint workflow 2013 models status graphic view page like the one we have with 2010 models ?

Thanks

While you're correct in that it can be worked around, you wouldn't want to have a production farm that is outright unsupported, either.

If I had a logical guess. Service Pack 1 will release the week of the SPC next week. But that's just my thoughts :P.

The Distributed Cache service is started on all servers that run SharePoint products at installation time. Will that be a problem on Windows

You'll want to limit the number of DCs to 3 or 4 (stop the service when you have a chance on any remaining servers that are not end-user facing, or dedicated DCs).

I'd strongly recommend Server 2012 for SharePoint 2013 over 2008 R2, though. This is primarily just due to community support. The known issues with 2012 vs. 2008 R2.

I hate Microsoft's update pages, so hard to find exactly what is fixed or new. Any place to know "New" stuff in SP1 or is there anything new? Lol.
February 25th, 2014 10:38pm

It contains bug fixes up to Jan 2013. Also contains Yammer integration for on-prem.

SkyDrive Pro to One Drive for Business Naming?

Yammer require 365 license or they just going to let you use it with On-Prem license model?

I do not believe Yammer requires an O365 license, but you do have to purchase a license for more than simply basic features.

About the naming, yes it was changed:

Trevor, do you have to install the English Server Language Pack SP1 after you applied the English SP1 on SharePoint 2013?

February 27th, 2014 11:02am

Hello

no you don't have, just remember to run configuration wizard after SP1 (on all farm servers). (you only need to install language packs and service pack of languages others than the SharePoint installation package)

Just please let me know if after the installation you have some database of Metadata running in compatibility mode.

Thanks

Thanks, I let you now. I install the SharePoint SP1 now on our development environment ;)

The database is in compatibility range of the BDC Service not the Metadata Database:

The Office HTML Viewer Service experienced a problem.

Error:  Not launching Document Conversions Launcher because registry key acknowledging service running on app server ('AcknowledgedRunningOnAppServer') is not set.
