SharePoint 3 Central Administration missing
When I go to launch SharePoint 3 Central Administration, I don't see the Central Admin page but see a page that says Team SiteHere is what happened:1. I had to move our current sharepoint site to a different server2. I installed sharepoint on a different server, selecting "Web Front End" , "No, I want to create a new server farm", select new database on the new server3. Then I created a new site4. Then ran stsadm restore to restore the data from the original sharepoint siteWhat did I do wrong? Thanks in advance

Sounds like you restored the old site on top of the central admin site - just a guess based on your description. You shouldn't need to do a restore though if you have the content databases - just build your new farm, create a web application, add your old content database, then remove the new content database that was added when the web app was created.

Hello, The most direct cause of this issue, I think, is that the port assigned to Central Administration is occupied by the team web site. The possible root cause might be that you accidently choose to restore the site into the Central Administration web application. Please open your IIS Manager to check the existing web sites, if the Central Administration is located on the other port, try to redirect the Central Administration shortcut. Otherwise, we may need to re-run the Psconfig and configure your farm again. Regards, Lionel

You guys are right. I must have restored my site into the Central Administration web application. In IIS, there is only the single Central Administrator Website, and my Team site sits on that port.I tried the command from xwindows:Psconfig cmd adminvs provision port < give the port # for the new central admin site> windowsauthprovider onlyusentlmAll it does is move my current team site to the new port I chose. It does not give me back the Central Administration web site.Any other ideas or things I can try. Thanks,David
