SharePoint site Service Unavailable following reboot
After having problems adding users to a site in SharePoint server 2007, we rebooted the server. The site with the problem displays Service Unavailable. The remaining sites are functional. I found that the application pools node in IIS had stopped and performed the following: 1. Opened IIS Internet Manager.2. Opened the application pools node and selected the respected application pool and started it. I then ran the IISRESET command. The site starts, but when I when I close the Internet Manager the service Stops again. I need assistance on what I should try next. Any ahelp is greatly appreciated.

In my experience, when application pools shut down like that it is normally because the account they are running under is no longer valid or is locked. I would start by validating the account info and status and then update the app pool in SharePoint. stsadm -o updateaccountpassword -userlogin <var>DomainName</var> \<var>UserName</var> -password <var>NewPassword</var> -noadmin http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838SharePoint MVP | Developer | Administrator | Speaker-- Twitter -- Blog - http://nextconnect.blogspot.com
