HiWell are user somehow deleted a whole site on our SharePoint. I restored the site using a backupand in doing so the administration for sharepoint is no longer accesible also the timer service is not working correctly.the server is a standalone and not a farm operation. we have one sharepoint server for our intranet.Ravinder Jamgotre

Sorry, I am not a MS rep so they might be able to find a way to support you for remote support. I just help out on the forum only. It seems like you did a database restore (or perhaps multiple databases). If it was only the site that was deleted, I would have restore ONLY the content database and detach/reattach it (via CA or stsadm). Somehow I think you restored too many databases (configuration and/or CA database). You can try and run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard and hope it can repair the restore. That's SharePoint for you...

Found answer by setting up a test server and replicating the error message above. I need to re-create the admin site, publish IIS site with correct port number (central admin uses long ports, however these can be modified).Ravinder Jamgotre
