Sharepoint.3.0 Installation Error
Hello, I'm installing WSS 3.0 and am receiving an error that there is not enough disk space to install -- According to the error message WSS requires 207 mb). The drive I'm installing to has 29gb of free space. I am changing the drive when I do the install and I'm wondering if there is something that is automatically going to the default drive (c:\ -- which is out of space). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Not every file is placed into your target installation directory so, yes, you do need to have free space on the C:\ e.g. All the assemblies are located in the GAC (which is in C:\Windows\Assembly), other files are no doubt located around the C:\ Windows installation folder (e.g. log files, temporary files used for installation) Also consider the implications of running a system with a low C:\ - the swap file, memory dump files, temporary files etc are all located there (unless you have moved them!)
