Sharepoint 2007 Cumulative update Roll Back
Hi there My client have a sharepoint farm running on sharepoint 2007 SP2. Since some of the issues that we were facing was fixed in April 2009 Cumulative update , we are planning to apply this update. before applying i wanted to know if there is any way to roll back the Update? Also I read in some blogs that if the update is doing some schema changes to the DB then, we cannot roll back. is it true? how do i find if this April 2009 Cumulative update has some schema changes? Any Help would be highly appreciated. Regards Prakash

for a best practice, you can follow these steps: Have a test environment similar to your productive. Create a complete backup for all SharePoint data and a system backup of all WFE’s. Install SP2. Test briefly the functionality. Install April CU. Test the functionality as deep as possible. With that experience do same steps in the production environment. and also read this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263467(office.12).aspx April CU, updates the DB schema. I am sure about this once you install the CU, their is no way to roll back. hope this help thanks -ws SharePoint administrator, MCTS,MCITP
